The Durham Revue have produced a great number of household names over the past 50 years. Here we have collected together a few names you will know, some you should know, and some you'll hear of very soon.
MEGAN FROM HR.
Megan from HR. is a comedy duo made up by Ambika Mod & Andrew Shires. Their debut show as a duo, Children of the QuornTM experienced a very successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, being listed in Three Weeks and The List as one of ‘Three to See Most Promising Sketch Shows’ and ‘Best Horror Comedies to Look Out For’ respectively, and receiving several 5* reviews. The show also enjoyed a sell-out transfer to the Pleasance, London and was scouted to be performed at Soho Theatre.
MASSIVE DAD
Massive Dad are an award winning sketch group comprised of former Revmembers Stevie Martin, Tessa Coates and Liz Kingsman. With two critically acclaimed sell-out Fringe shows, Massive Dad are now making moves into television and radio, joining forces with fellow sketch comedians Lazy Susan and Birthday Girls under the guise of supergroup Massive Lazy Girls.
TOM NEENAN
Tom Neenan is an actor, writer and comedian. Previously known as one half of the critically acclaimed Gentlemen of Leisure alongside fellow member of the revue Nish Kumar, Tom built his name with his solo comedy shows which have taken the Edinburgh Fringe by storm. He is the lead writer on BBC Two's hit satirical show The Mash Report for which he was nominated for a BAFTA. Tom has also written for The Last Leg, Have I Got News For You and Almost Royal.
STEVIE MARTIN
Stevie is a comedian, writer and actor. She has performed two solo Edinburgh shows, Hot Content (‘Top Comedy Shows to See at the Fringe’, Time Out) and Vol. 1. She has also appeared on DAVE's Comedians Giving Lectures and BBC3's Russel Howard's Good News. Stevie co-hosts the popular comedy self-help podcast Nobody Panic, which has been downloaded over a million times.
JAMES CARY
James contributed to the creation and writing of Radio 4's award-winning, Think the Unthinkable, the BBC Three series Bluestone 42, Miranda, and many others, including his two books, Death By Civilisation, and Crossword Ends In Violence. He is also the co-host of the popular podcast Sitcom Geeks.
